Mandarin Oranges

Canned mandarin oranges sat in their own sauce for a bit too long. Apparently they landed at the back of Dan's fridge, where all good foods go to die. The mold here is like carpet, a thick layer on top of the otherwise normal looking oranges.

Coffee Goodness

Adam passed along these two amazing coffee related mold incidents. The first is from his coffee cup, the second from a travel mug. I hate to think that he probably washed and continued using both...

Garlic Pasta

A garlic pasta concoction I occasionally make found itself in the fridge for a bit too long... Dead center is a clump of nasty green mold curdle. This steals the show away from all the black spots distributed throughout this enjoyable pasta dish.

Brown Orange

Jenny showed up at my house with an Anderson's Bakery bag with an exciting surprise inside. Fortunate for readers, this was not a sweet treat but rather this brown orange with a frightening black spot of mold looking like a cigarette burn on top. Thankfully this remained in ...

Coated Strawberry

The first repeat fruit, the strawberry, rears it's furry head once again, this time from my fridge. Most surprising in this case is the single molded berry looking like it's frosted with a white creamy substance. In the background you can enjoy all the rest of the mold ...

Cool Whip

Moving into the #2 contributor spot, Jenny provided this fantastic tub of spotted Cool Whip. If you look close, you can see there are at least three distinct types of mold blossoming on this tasty dish. My favorite is the furry section...

Banana

Donna Bramer (Dan's Mom) sent along this fabulous dark black banana. This tasty fruit morsel was discovered by her friend in the cupboard of a vacated house. I'm particularly curious about the two circles, described by some as "scorch marks."

Pineapples

Tim sent along this image of what he referred to as "pineapples". In it's current state, it more closely resembles a pink gelatin. The texture of this substance is most interesting. I hope this Tupperware was disposed of...

Coffee Filter and Coffee Pot

Dan (always the great contributor) sent along this set of fallout imagery from an ignored coffee pot. The top image looks like cloud cover on an alien planet from space. Yet.. it is actually a close up on the coffee pot itself. The second more obvious image ...

Summer Squash

These yellow summer squash are more rotten than moldy, but disgusting nonetheless. These spent far too much time in our vegetable drawer...

Hot Dog

Jenny provided this wonderfully moldy hot dog for our enjoyment. She had bought this at Bad Dawgs but instead of eating it forgot it in the fridge for a number of days. Once realizing it had past... she kept around a bit longer for our enjoyment.

Wheat Roll

Another contribution from Dan, this wheat roll is encrusted in a green powdery looking mold. The texture grabbed by the macro in this image is spectacular.

Beer

This bottle stayed in Dan's possession long enough to develop small curdles of mold right at the bottom. A lovely amount of disgusting.

Whole Wheat Bread

This loaf of wheat bread hung around in a drawer for a bit too long... In turn it gained a yellow filmy mold coating both bread and bag.

A grey and white mold grows on these strawberries. Fantastic contrasts of green and red.
